This is a vintage puzzle with great patina known as Key Maze by Oscar Van Deventer. It is also known as “Free the Key”, “Sheriff’s Key” and “Oscar’s Key”! It looks to be steel with brass ring. This is Michael Toulouzas' Fairy Door. I ordered it about 2014 and received it around 2019. It's a discovery puzzle, finding tools to procede further, and I quite enjoyed solving it. However, I tend to keep my house at about 65 degrees most of the time, and this box definitely prefers about 70 degrees if you want it to open. At 65 degrees F, the main latch mechanism binds up so it won't open up. This isn't a defect, it's just a characteristic of the woods used in making the puzzle. It's a beaut...
