Flange 99
This is a 6-piece level 8 burr. All 6 pieces are identical, and they (obviously) fit together to make the object in the picture. This is very small (about 1.5") and laser cut by Walter Hoppe. It weighs about 1/2 ounce. There have only been 2 of this puzzle made (prototype for a slightly nastier puzzle). Fairly difficult to assemble (I had to refer to the instructions myself) once taken apart.<br>This is technically a "board burr" since all the pieces are flat with no projections. The 6 boa...

This is a another 6-piece burr, but only level 4 (Flange 99 is a level 8). All 6 pieces are identical, and they fit together to make the object in the picture. This is very small (about 1.25") and laser cut by Walter Hoppe. It weighs about 1/2 ounce. There have only been 2 of this puzzle made (prototype for a modified version of this puzzle). Flange 77
This is a another 6-piece board burr, but only level 4 (Flange 99 is a level 8). All 6 pieces are identical, and they fit together to make the object in the picture. This is very small (about 1.25") and laser cut by Walter Hoppe. It weighs about 1/2 ounce. There have only been 2 of this puzzle made (this is a prototype for a modified version of this puzzle). This is by far the easiest of the 3 "Flange" puzzles to assemble. The 6 boards are 3/8" thick.

Binary Burr
Bill kindly gave me permission to make one for my private collection, which I now have to sell unfortunately, again with Bill's permission.
The Binary Burr functions like the Chinese Rings. There are 6 'ring' pieces. Each added ring multiplies the number of moves to remove the first piece by approximately 2. The number of moves required to take out the first piece is 85.
This design was awarded a First Prize at the 2003 IPP Puzzle Design Competition - From Bill's Website

Resin Puzzle -Protomold
This is a "give-away" puzzle from an injection-molding plastics company called Protomold. Each piece is made from a different kind of plastic, with the type of plastic labelled on the side of each piece (like PC/ABS for polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadienge styrene blend, etc). Neat gimmick! You won't find these very often, anywhere (although it is only a couple of years old). Comes with a little bag and instructions from Protomold. Like new.

Pieces of Eight
This copy of the excellent pieces of eight is one of a kind. I had a lot of different wood pieces left over from the run I made several years ago, but not enough for a solid patterend copy. So, I glued together about 10 different species randomly. Result is a puzzle full of color!

Russian Soccer Ball
I didn't know whether to call this a "take apart" or "put together", but since I've never had it apart, I guess it's a "take apart" puzzle. It looks like a soccer ball, and it has Russian letters on it; if you can read it, maybe you'll know what it says. I don't remember where I bought this; either IPP 2000, or from Japan. No box, no instructions, just a little plastic stand and the ball.

Explode-A-Burr
In the words of Bill Cutler: "Can you make a 6-piece burr which consists of 6 identical pieces, has no internal holes, and can come apart? I had found an answer to this question many years ago. The design mixes the construction of the 'Star Burr' with that of the 6-piece burr."
