Another rare Coffin original (see my other listings).  This copy of The General is likely made of Honduras Mahogany as mentioned in Coffin's AP-ART compendium.  It is an imposing puzzle standing just under 12 cm and another classic/tricky Coffin design. A classic coffin design. Six pieces assemble in a co-ordinate motion and the puzzle opens and closes like a rosebud. It can be assembled in other configurations. The movement on this copy is good though a little tight to begin with when the pieces have greatest contact with each other. It comes complete with the re-moveable retaining pin which allows it to be almost fully opened without collapse.
