Jim Gooch - Switchboard Burr by Eric Fuller
from cubicdissection.com:" I recently started
corresponding with Jim Gooch about his various puzzle designs, and was
pleased and flattered when he offered me his latest design to make and
share with you all. This new puzzle, the switchboard burr, is very
unique and interesting with a level 9 solution. In his words "I had the idea to combine pieces from a
traditional burr puzzle, a board burr puzzle and the more complex
version of the Three Piece Knot that Frans de Vreugd and I worked on a...

Stewart Coffin - Jupiter by Mark McCallum
Stewart Coffin's Jupiter puzzle ( STC #7) made from Australian Lacewood, Tulipwood, Bocote, Narra, Bloodwood, and Ziricote. Puzzle is from my personal collection. This was my first prototype of Stewart's beautiful Jupiter puzzle. The arms are just a little bit short, due to a miscalculation on my part. However, it isn't overly noticeable. A piece or two have a slightly splintered edge. Although it seems solid, don't throw it into air, or it will rain down in 12 pieces.Stewart Coffin's most ...

Stewart Coffin/ Mark McCallum - Augmented 4 Corner Variant by Mark McCallum
A variation to Stewart Coffin's Augmented 4 Corners puzzle (STC #34) , could possibly be #90, but since Stewart did not record the design, I chose to take the challenge and design what I thought belonged there. This puzzle is made of Tulipwood, Bloodwood, Purpleheart, and Cherry. This puzzle has 6 identically shaped pieces that assemble in multiple ways. There are several color symmetry problems to solve. I came up with this variation in 1999. This puzzle has a nice fit and finish. It also...

Stewart Coffin - 4 Color Notched Rhombic Sticks by Mark McCallum
Stewart Coffin's Notched Rhombic Sticks puzzle made of Yellowheart, Padauk, Goncalo Alves, Tropical Walnut. This puzzle somehow did not get it's own number in Stewart's listing. Mr Coffin shows this puzzle in Fig 136 of his Puzzling World of Polyhedral Dissections book. It consists of 12 augmented triangular sticks. It looks somewhat similar to a 12 pieces separation puzzle but has more key pieces due to the squared ends. By adding color, the solutions should be limited to one. This puzzl...
