I purchased this box new, opened it one time and placed it in my puzzle cabinet. A few of the sliders move loosely. Set of x5 Minimax routefinding mazes - Remove the trapped rings from the plastic squares - Don't know much about these, but they're pocket sized and very fun to fiddle with! Never seen them before. 

The mechanism inside has been improved. The way to open it is the same. You will certainly be able to open this box.Created : 08/2008Although he says you can always open the box in fact the mechanism is finicky and sometimes takes a couple of tries to work.
