One of the famous Sandfield Brothers' dovetail designs, this one by Robert, crafted exquisitely in two beautifully contrasting woods by the master Perry McDaniel.  Robert used this puzzle in the puzzle exchange at IPP19 (London, 1999).  The dovetail design provides the appearance that it was impossible to join the two pieces together, and that it is impossible to take them apart (which is the objective).  This is unusual in the Sandfield/McDaniel collaborations in that a good deal of dexterit...
