Most greedy cups are made of ceramic. This greedy cup is very unusual in that it is made of wood. The cup can hold liquid up to a certain level, but adding liquid beyond this (unmarked) level causes ALL of the liquid to spill out through a hole in the bottom of the cup. Unlike most greedy cups where the siphon runs up through an object in the middle of the cup, this wooden greedy cup has the siphon hidden in one of its walls.
This puzzling object was exchanged by perennial Japanese Puzzle Exchange participant Naoaki Takashima at IPP29 held in Washington DC in 2009. It is complete in its original box with its original instruction sheet.
