This puzzle is a exchange puzzle by Peter Knoppers for the International Puzzle Party 34 held in London, UK 2014
Goal: Assemble cibic shaped board burr.
Design:
For this IPP I wanted to design a board Burr using six square boards that would assemble into this shape.
The design process of this puzzle was slow and involved many dead ends. In the process I came upon a group of 115 designs that all had no solutions before deciding to go for 8 pieces (instead of 6) and finding this design as well as the design I used as my exchange gift at Gathering For Gardner 11. Details of the design process were printed in Cubism For Fun, issue 95, “What if you find 115 puzzles with no solutions”, pp 4-7.
Packaging: Zip lock bag
