This puzzle is a exchange puzzle by Harry Nelson for the International Puzzle Party 25 held in Helsinki, Finland 2005
Objective / Description:
1) Form the eight tetracubes into a 2x2x8 tower.
2) Place the eight tetracubes into the frame.
3) Start with the empty frame; place the eight tetracubes into the frame, only working through the top hole.
About the puzzle:
[Editor’s note:] There are included in the puzzle in total 8 different solid tetrominoes (excluding rotations and reflections), which make 32 units. If arranged within a 4x4x4 frame, (which also makes 32 units) This would fill a 4x4x4 cube with framing.
There is a catch, however. One of the tetrominoes is a “transformer”: two magnets make it L-shaped, and it can be transformed into a square. In its transformed shape they all fit to the frame.
