A classic and striking puzzle by Stewart Coffin. 12 identical, but non-symmetrical pieces, each comprised of 5 sticks assemble to enclose a tricontrahedron. This particular puzzle has all 12 pieces made from Breadnut and includes an additional 13th piece, so once assembled, you can see the "basic" building block. One of the pieces is marked, on the inside, with the word "BREADNUT" and "#2-1 1976 S.T.C (see final picture)
The fit of this puzzle is good. When I first received it the first move was a little tight but after what I assume is the first disassembly in many years it now moves smoothly.
The puzzle has a notional diameter of around six inches
