Although it looks relatively modest on the outside, this is a phenomenally difficult puzzle box to open. It is by far the most difficult box I have produced for the public. Beginning with simple sliding panel moves, the solvers task is to find the key and use it to disengage the concealed locks which prevent it from opening further. Although the metal parts of the mechanism are never revealed, this box would not have been possible without my recent metalwork experience. Once again, the simple appearance of this box belies the amount of work poured into its craftsmanship and construction. It is a very, very difficult puzzle. You have been warned : )

Eric wasn't joking, this is a very difficult puzzle. in fact, there's a dirty trick involved with this that had me stumped for over three months. pride prevented me from contacting Eric for a hint, so i took the box to my dentist and had him x-ray it. it didn't help.
