Demonstrably Distinguished Design!
Three Ps and three Ds from PD puzzles

This puzzle is, without a doubt, the most magical puzzle I have ever had the pleasure to solve.
I think that the creator may, in fact, be an actual sorcerer. The story that comes with the Pin in the Pebble claims that a Merlin-type wizard created this item, as a test to find the true king, not unlike the Sword in the Stone, but I'm referring to Lewis Evans himself: He clearly has access to the dark arts, and has used them to make one of the best puzzles in one of the oddest shapes.
It took me days and days to get through this thing. It was tricky, but every trick was a true joy to discover and to eventually overcome. Thanks to the difficulty and the sense of it giving you no quarter, every step of progress feels miraculous. It is tough, but fair. There are ways to suss out its hidden intricacies, its concealed secrets.
You would not think that a mere rock that is roughly the size of your hands could hold so much, but it absolutely does. It's positively packed with puzzling progression. I imagine that there is not an inch of wasted space within the stone-like skin of the so-called Pebble. Every single millimeter holds merriment and mirth for those who take up the challenge.
There are many distinct stages, each unique and fascinating.
I can't say any more without giving anything away.
Except, let me add this: The ending, the final moment is pure perfection. It might make you laugh, it might make you gasp, but it will certainly have you believing that this peculiar pebble is a magically made mechanical masterpiece.
Fittingly for an object that is meant to come from a fantasy story: I think it has the makings of a unicorn, I believe it's going to be sought after for years to come.

Of note: I've marked this as a 'Puzzle Box' (and I would call it a Sequential Discovery, absolutely) because so many of the mechanisms seem to be akin to such things, but perhaps 'Sequential Movement' would be more apt. It's very much not a 'box' in terms of the form-factor, and the word 'box' also implies some amount of storage capacity. But this item has none: there is only 'storage space' for the final prize.
