Description
5 varied Exchange puzzles from IPP23, held in Chicago in 2002
Unique Nine--- Mitsuhiro design and manufacture, Naoaki Takashima (perennial IPP attendee and Puzzle Exchange participant) exchange. Nine 2D and 3D assembly challenges from among the 4 tetracubes and 5 pentacubes. As received from IPP22. Disassembled.
Octo-Diamond --- Bob Finn (regular IPP attendee) design and exchange, Walt Hoppe (Laser Perfect) manufacture. Fit the 7 tetra-octogons into the tray. Received at IPP23 in shrink wrap, now in a plastic bag. With original instruction sheet. Disassembled.
On the Spot Insanity --- Rik van Grol (perennial IPP Puzzle Exchange participant) design, manufacture, and exchange. One of Rik's take-offs on the Instant Insanity puzzle. Arrange the nine cubes in a 3x3 square such that like symbols do not appear in the same row, column, or diagonal (on each side of the 3x3 square), sort of like a two-dimensional Instant Insanity. As received from IPP23, with original instruction card and "hints" sheet.. Disassembled.
Rook, Knight, Bishop Puzzle --- Yoshiyuki Kotani (perennial IPP Puzzle Exchange participant) design and exchange, LCC manufacture. Switch the positions of the black and white rings. VERY INTERESTING: one ring can only move to adjacent orthogonal holes (the rook); on ring can only move between adjacent diagonal holes (the bishop); and one ring can only move between L-separated holes (the knight). As received at IPP23 with original documentation in original cellophane bag. Disassembled.
Chicago Chessboard Puzzle --- Marcel Gillen (prolific puzzle designer and perennial IPP attendee) design and manufacture, Carlo Gitt (perennial IPP Puzzle Exchange participant) exchange. Assemble the 14 pieces into an 8x8 chessboard. As received at IPP23. Disassembled.
I will include the solution to each puzzle (unless the solution is already included) from the IPP23 booklet.
