U.S. Marine Corps Anniversary Puzzle Box
From
the description in a previous CDM listing: "This unique puzzle box was a
commemorative gift to the 242nd division of the United States Marine
Corps. It's nicely decorated with gold inlay on the top and a metal
inlayed emblem on the front."
This
is one of the largest boxes in my collection. When I first purchased
it, I thought it was a cigar box but I'm not entirely sure that's its
intended purpose. Regardless, it a very solid wood piece with some cool
decorative elements and enough space to store a couple cigars. It is
not a difficult challenge, although it did take me a few minutes to
recall how to solve this thing again just now.
The puzzle is in excellent condition. There is some light wear from use but the decorative elements are clean and bright. The only thing I can notice is a thin scratch on one corner on box top (see photo).
