The blocks are cubes, and can be rotated to any orientation, even though they can NOT be taken out of the frame.
This makes the puzzle much more difficult & interesting than you would expect from a 3-piece puzzle!
The goal is to slide and rotate the 3 cubes within the wooden frame, to achieve a continuous line on the cubes faces.
The 'lines' are inlayed woods of various types. The frame itself is inlayed with more bits and lines than necessary, just to make it look even better, as is typical for Endo's work.
The puzzle is in original foil, never opened. The cubes do slide freely, that is confirmed.
