Description
6 identical odd shaped wood pieces form a pinwheel. This puzzle comes apart with coordinate motion but 3 not obvious steps are needed before it will open. Difficult to disassemble with a lot of movement of the pieces but it will not come apart. This is the first wood version of Bram Cohen's Pinwheel design. The previous version was 3D printed. This Pinwheel has a jamming problem so only 2 wood versions of this design were made before changes were made for another Pinwheel design without the jamming problem. The jamming problem is easy to work around and it still is a nice design. Photos of the puzzle in the jammed position are included (these are the ones without the pencil). For IPP29 Bram Cohen made a very small version of this Pinwheel design out of acrylic for his souvenir puzzle.
