Description
This is a 1987 prototype of an unusual three-dimensional puzzle and/or game in which blocks have to be assembled in such a way that the black areas continue from one block to the next. It comes with a photocopy of typed rules -- but they are in Italian only, so I do not know how the game/puzzle plays exactly; there are 4 pages of illustrations plus 6 Polaroid pictures of the blocks assembled in various ways; from these photos, it appears that there are design elements to the game.
Bill's Game was invented by Renato de Rosa and/or maybe her husband Bill, and it comes from the collection of the late Sid Sackson. There are 16 puzzle blocks that form a 4 x 4 grid, plus two slightly larger blocks whose purpose I have not determined. The blocks have holes on all sides. The blocks are placed on a square board that has 16 posts, and each block can be placed on one post. However, the illustrations in the instructions suggest that the blocks can also be built upward. The materials come in a plain cardboard box. There is something ultimately intriguing here! Are you willing to take a chance?
