From
the original description by Eric Fuller, who sold me this.. The puzzle
is mint. I started to open it, but I realized that since i am in late
60's and have neuropathy, i couldn't put it together, so didn't try. The
cellophane was slit in two places without damaging the wood, and then i
sealed it up, without removing it from the delicate cellophane. so it
is the same shape it was sent to me... My name is kenneth schatten and
am a solar physicist.. Hope someone else will enjoy it.. I think what i bought is
Rosewood, which I think is what it looks like but in the photos shows a little darker...I am quite sure of.. although the puzzle came in three types
of wood , so i could be off.. I think the last is a picture of how the
puzzle should look put together, and the first two show the state it is
in now (original) with some tape on the cellophane ... ERic's description: This is one of the more beautiful puzzles I have ever seen, and also one of the most difficult. Mr. Yananose designed this in 1999 without the aid of a computer, and it is according to him “crazy hard”. I agree with that assessment! The puzzle is incredibly interlocking, to the point that fully half of the ends themselves are captive in notches. Construction is very precise, with a nice moderate fit. Some of my finer stock was used for this one. Only 23 copies made for sale; each signed and dated. This is a fairly rare puzzle, and is likely to stay that way due to the precision required. Ships unassembled; solution possibly available on request from Mr. Fuller.Shipping . I dont know what exact shipping will be , but because of neuropathy to avoid a couple of trips to post office, will charge a domestic shipping rate of a flat fee of 8$, plus any insurance the buyer should wish for. Two pictures show current condition of puzzle (puzzle mint, package- cellophane will be reinforced and well packaged). Last picture from web site is a poor rendition of what solution should look like... |
