Description

Twisted Halfcubes is a BEAUTIFULLY made puzzle by the prolific puzzle designer and manufacturer Vaclav Obsivac, better known as Vinco. It was used by perennial puzzle exchange participant Mike Hawthorn in the Edward Hordern Puzzle Exchange at IPP29 (SanFrancisco, 2009). The objective of the puzzles is to arrange the eight pieces to form what looks like a 2x2x2 cube. Nine additional challenges are presented. What is unique about the puzzle and the pieces is that each piece needs to be HOOKED (twisted) into its neighboring piece in order to "lock" the pieces together. Each puzzle piece is made of four BEAUTIFULLY CONTRASTING WOODS and finished superbly by Vinco.

The puzzle is as it was received at IPP29 in 2009, in its original box, with instructions on the lid. I will provide a copy of the solution to Twisted Halfcubes from the IPP29 exchange booklet.
