Description
Lee Krasnow high-precision laser cut miniature version of a sphere design. A gem of a puzzle, pieces are in excellent condition. Very few were made, perhaps 50. PPW logo is engraved on the front of the key piece, "Made in USA 2008" on the reverse. Hardwood laminate engraved and finished to a level of detail that is, well, incredible.
Originally, Lee posted: "Over the past year, the team at Pacific Puzzleworks has been developing our own super-high-quality hardwood laminate product that we make ourselves by pressing together veneer cut from sustainably harvested trees (cherry, walnut and maple) using non-toxic aliphatic resin wood glue. This special puzzlemaking plywood is sanded to accurate dimension, and then laser-cut with high-resolution etching on both sides of the material. The unsurpassed quality of the resulting puzzle pieces can be seen by examining the full-size version of the photographs. The perfect fit and meticulous attention to detail is what you would expect from anything bearing a Pacific Puzzleworks logo."
Pacific Puzzleworks FB says "Lee Krasnow is widely regarded by puzzle collectors as one of the worlds best designers and craftsmen of interlocking geometric puzzles and secret opening boxes. A self-taught artist, inventor and entrepreneur, he has been designing and manufacturing puzzles under the Pacific Puzzleworks brand name since 2001. Several of his original puzzle designs have received prominent awards in international design competitions, and he has given lecture on a variety of puzzle-related topics at forums including mathematicians conventions, puzzle collectors conventions, woodworking clubs, inventors clubs, the Exploratorium, and the Maker Faire. He has worked professionally as a CNC Machinist at Diamond Tool & Die in Oakland, and has been Artist in Residence at the Autodesk Pier 9 Workshop in San Francisco, California. His puzzles have been on display in art galleries and museums, featured in books, and used as props on TV. "
Lee's work is superb from every perspective. Superlatives fail me. Don't miss a chance to grab a bona fide Krasnow!
