Broken Soma is a puzzle hiding more secrets than one would expect. I first worked on it thinking I would solve it within minutes, but to my surprise, it took at least an hour before I had the crucial insight to solve it which put a smile on my face at Ken Irvine's sneakiness.
It's called Broken Soma, because Ken took the 3 voxel piece (the small L) and broke it into 6 half voxel pieces which he then attached to the other 6 Soma pieces. Taking a puzzle that had 240 solutions down to only one! Now that's what I call a clever twist!
This copy of Broken Soma is a mixed woods edition and every piece is a different type of wood. Originally it came with a purpleheart piece, but it arrived chipped and scratched. So Brian was kind enough to send another one in better condition. I kept that for myself in a different copy of Broken Soma (Yes I have two Broken Somas! Don't tell me you wouldn't get multiple copies if you could!) Anyways, this puzzle has all of the Broken Soma pieces in perfect condition along with the extra purpleheart piece I'm including as well.
Plus, I can assure you that this is a completely unique mixture of woods due to me mixing and matching different woods from 2 copies of Broken Soma. No one else will have the exact same set of woods.
