Description
The following text is taken from the original description when I bought the puzzle back in Jul;y 2008 :
"A LARGE 6x6 CAGE PUZZLE, Custom-built to be one of the most beautiful and most challenging puzzles in the worldwide puzzle marketplace!
This is a 5 3/8" cubic puzzle, with 14 complex-shaped wooden pieces, which move in every direction. It takes 17 correct moves to take out the first piece of this puzzle! The random pattern of wood grains and colors on each face of the puzzle's cube, makes this puzzle even more challenging. There's a small dot on the top face of this cage puzzle, right rear, for orientation in taking this puzzle apart and then putting it back together again. This puzzle cube design was custom engineered and lovingly hand made for you by a 70 year old craftsman. He'd love to see you buy this special edition wooden puzzle, present it as a gift, try it yourself, or just display it and enjoy his craftsmanship like a work of art in your home. It would be hard to find a nicer gift for a child or an adult that's a self-proclaimed puzzle expert. This collectible puzzle which can both be used and preserved as a lasting investment for future generations. This lovely cage puzzle, attractive from all sides, has a rigid outer cage frame. The cage holds all the moving pieces in place. There's only one correct way to take this puzzle apart and to put it back together again. To prepare you for the challenge, please allow me to repeat that it takes 17 correct moves in order to get the first piece out! It's rare for a puzzle piece to come out with only 1 move. Following pieces extending out of the cage may need to be moved back into the cube to sequentially remove other pieces. If a piece doesn't move freely, don't force it, as it probably doesn't belong there. There are even about 10 voids inside the cage of this puzzle, which allow some of the wooden pieces to slide to surprisingly complex positions during their removal and reassembly. This puzzle's cage and the first puzzle piece which can be removed, are uniquely serial numbered and hand signed with the wood type and the date of hand assembly and hand finishing. My amateur photos that show the Bubinga wood's pores as whitish in color are not correct as it's just reflection of the camera flash. I did want to show you the striking grain patterns of this wood. The Bubinga in varied red's and brown's in the other photos is more like this lovely wood puzzle. I personally recommend putting this puzzle on your lap while watching TV. TV doesn't deserve or need your full attention anyway and others won't talk to you as much, while your working on this puzzle! With this puzzle, you or anyone can always continue where you left off...
This is a C-6-216-14-17 Solution puzzle."
The Standard Puzzle Hamster is going to miss this one. It' an impressive show piece burr that certainly draws attention, non-trivial to say the least.
Postage will be from the UK, were it to be returned to the US the airmail postage cost is likely to be around $35 as the puzzle weighs about 5lbs.
