Topless Box by Eric Fuller (5 of 5)
Initially released in 2012, Topless Box is a favorite we never tire of recreating. The solution is tricky and surprising. Where do you even begin? The mechanism may be deduced without the use of external tools. No bumping, banging, shaking, spinning, gravity moves, or excessive force is necessary or allowed. Once opened, the elegant mechanism is visible to the solver, and you'll...

Jesse Born - Sea Chest (2020)
i'm not sure where Jesse gets the concepts for his puzzles, but they
often remind me of movies. this one reminds me of Pirates Of The
Caribbean. (the first one (i mean the good one).) but if i'd been born
half a century earlier it would probably remind me of Treasure
Island. not due to any direct resemblance or reference, but due
to the concept and intriguing solution path.
on that note, when
you have solved this puzzle, you may not have solved this puzzle.

Kim Klobucher - KNOB(2) (2009)
this is one of Kim's
'phrase puzzles', where each move is assigned a letter and the
solution spells something. in this case, it's a 19-move sequence
that spells the name 'Nobuyuki Yoshigahara', for whom the IPP annual
puzzle design competition was named after his death in 2004. Nob
Yoshigahara was a supernice and groovycool smart person, and this is
Kim's puzzle tribute to him.

Gentleman Crocodile, Yoh Kakuda Karakuri Box KY-31-2 (2015 / 2022)
"Gentleman Crocodile" is, by far, the cutest Karakuri box I have seen! It is crafted by the very popular Yoh Kakuda of the Karakuri Creation Group. It was designed by Kakuda for his 2015 Karakuri Christmas gift, and then redesigned for a slightly larger size in 2022. The box is made from 4 woods: magnolia, walnut, chanchin, and keyaki. "Gentleman Crocodile" becomes even cuter as one finds the solution! The solver will understand why Kakuda said of his puzzle, "The crocodile is a gentlem...
