A disentanglement puzzle from Loncrain Broxton (Lagoon Games)

This knife is actually not sharp but despite there being no spring mechanism in it you are able to get the blade to retract as though it has been pulled into the handle by a spring (if you know the secret). Maybe more of a magic trick than a puzzle but thought some might be interested in it.

This is an optical illusion whereby the coils can appear to be closer or further away than they really are. Presented by Muroi as a supplementary souvenir at IPP13.

A Ronald Kint-Bruynseels design this time with a little modification by Eric Fuller. The slightly angled grain gives the puzzle a kind of twisted appearance but this is merely an optical illusion.

27 piece Walnut 3D jigsaw over 20 years old. Comes with plastic case but the bottom is missing. This was made by a small UK puzzle company called Trench Enterprises. It was run by Kevin Holmes who made a range of wooden puzzles. Kevin Holmes is unfortunately no longer alive, and his company has closed.

6 identical odd shaped wood pieces form a pinwheel. This puzzle comes apart with coordinate motion but 3 not obvious steps are needed before it will open. From Eric: Double Cross was Tom Rodgers exchange puzzle at IPP 29 in San Francisco. Designated #240 by Stewart Coffin, it looks fairly simple with six thicker sticks intersected by six thinner sticks. Solving it is anything but, as the angles are very confusing and you always end up with that one piece that won't fit. I'm delighted with this puzzle, it's a heck of a lot of fun. Constructed this time with three nicely contrasting hardwoods, and holly splines as a nod toward the 2005 edition. I have to say I'm very happy indeed with how these turned out. Extremely precise and with a great feel and look. Anansi's Maze, designed by Pavel Curtis. This lovely acrylic puzzle was a good bit of fun to solve. Placing "all 12 pieces flat in the tray" is really not a puzzle at all; but putting them in so that the letters don't overlap is tricky. Then, figuring out the hidden message is also tricky. That leads you to the third puzzle. Anyway, the puzzle was a little journey of solutions, and quite satisfying; took somewhat less than an hour to solve. Impressive design from 2009.
