Nippon, the IPP 2001 puzzle from Wolfgang Schneider. You take a number of 4-cubie pieces and put them together so that you have a 6 sided figure showing the same number of squares in each view, and that each view is arranged identically. Sounds tough, especially when you add the "red dot" that will appear in each of the 6 views. I never did solve this one.

I can't actually call this a puzzle, but it sure looks like one. It's a beautiful "toy" with many puzzle-like characteristics, and a smart guy could probably make it into a puzzle somehow. It's from Naef, designed by Peer Clahsen, nesting cubic half-shells that can make a variety of stacked figures and boxes. It's interesting to play with.

From the second batch of 20 boxes made by Randal Gatewood in 2004. The box is in excellent condition no scratches no nicks, and comes with the orignal opening instructions from Cleverwood. The cedar lining inside the box smells just as wonderful as the first time I opened it 8 years ago. I have enjoyed this box for many years and feel it is time for someone else to treasure it.
