I believe this to be antique and Italian as it says "BEVETE SE POTETE" which according to Babel Fish is Italian for "Drink if you can". It has a bit of flaking of glaze around the bottom rim and spout, otherwise in very fine condition, no chips or cracks. The traditional hole under the handle is very well hidden by the green glaze of a painted leaf. The glaze is hand-painted. The makers mark stamped into the bottom has the initials "JGL" with a number "1" stamped beneath.
