As mentioned elsewhere, I enjoy odd shaped burr puzzles. Some of them are less fun though when built...they're shaky or don't move or interact well. The Le Taupe by Alfons didn't have that problem. I love hidden mazes, and Tim's design really brings it! A single burr piece is locked into the box by two cubes. Soma in Case is another offering from design genius Hajime Katsumoto. The seven soma pieces must be packed into a 5x3x2 space. Not too tough, except that the lid also has a cube secured to it and so the pieces must maneuver around the obstruction. Over 100,000 solutions, only one is assemblable with a combined 14 moves necessary. Five is the magic number! This "Turning Interlocking Cube" has a level five solution, with five rotations and five different wood types. Burr with Ring is a clever assembly from award winning designer Hajime Katsumoto. It's a standard six piece burr with the addition of six rings, each fixed to the end of one of the burr sticks. The second puzzle in this update by Perez, Board Burr Rack looks quite simple. Simply slide four burrs into the rack spaces created by the frame. Easy, right? Unfortunately the two cubes trapped inside the rack makes that task substantially more difficult.
