Bill's Ball bearing burr is one of my all-time favorite interlocking puzzles. The normal six-piece assembly is further complicated by the addition of two stainless ball bearings which must be placed in the correct location before assembly. I've been on a bit of a complex burr tear lately. It started with the Fusion series and went from there. Aquarius is a seemingly simple puzzle with a real surprise. Two burr pieces and a small slider interact with the ribbed cage to create an unexpectedly high level 17.9.3 solution. I really liked Tom's Cubic Burr 6.9 design, and when I messaged him he said he thought he could do even better. This second iteration in the Galaxy series has a very different solution than Galaxy one, upping the ante with a level 7 solution. Movement is expansive since it goes largely in the opposite direction that Galaxy 1 did. The solver faces the same conundrum they did with Galaxy one, being easily able to identify the vertical pieces yet arranging the marblewood pieces in the spiral shape remains the challenge. I like *some* packing puzzles, and this one made the cut. It's a set of pentominos and a simple box, yet there is only ONE solution to packing them all in. A truly extraordinary achievement! I interpreted this one with a lot of panache, using 12 different woods for the pieces (Canary, Bubinga, Yellowheart, Peruvian Walnut, Paduak, Wenge, Shedue, Mahogany, Ipe, Bocote, Cherry, Ash). Double Cross was Tom Rodgers exchange puzzle at IPP 29 in San Francisco. Designated #240 by Stewart Coffin, it looks fairly simple with six thicker sticks intersected by six thinner sticks. Solving it is anything but, as the angles are very confusing and you always end up with that one piece that won't fit. I'm delighted with this puzzle, it's a heck of a lot of fun. A nice compliment to Basket Burr, Aubade ups the difficulty considerably. This standard six piece burr gets a boost from the frame structure that contains it. Notes is a very unique concept by the clever Mr. Vanyo. The pieces look similar to music notes on written sheet music, and the solver must find a way to dance them around each other until all are packed tightly into the walnut frame. Pack 3 is a wonderful little gem of a packing puzzle by Mr. Yamamoto. The three pieces fit inside a 3x3x2 box with a very unusual opening.  There are two solutions, one trivial and the other tricky. The trivial solution puts the pieces in the box, while the tricky and intended solution is to put the pieces in as an apparent 3x3x2 with no holes showing from the opening.
