Five is the magic number! This "Turning Interlocking Cube" has a level five solution, with five rotations and five different wood types. Designed by Andrew Crowell, these fascinating TIC's take it to the next level. Instead of straightforward linear moves, these designs require rotations during the solution process. Tabula Cube is a very interesting puzzle. The 3x3 cube format is augmented with eighteen smaller planks which connect with the cubes to make nine different shapes. The level 1.7.2 solution is tricky to disassemble and very challenging to assemble. Tabula is a lot of work to make, with 45 component pieces and very precise gluing requirements. The "BonBon" packing puzzle by Frederic Boucher is just a ton of fun. The set of five tetrominos must be fully inserted in the rectangular box, and there is only one very specific way to do it. Designed and first released at IPP in 2009, Surround is closely related to the 3/4/5 cubes designs by Ichiro. In this case, six pieces must be used to surround the solid cube in such a way that is self-supporting. Daedalus is a masterpiece of design.
