This item is from a somewhat limited run of this puzzle that was created in 2023 by 'Doogaloo Games', also known as Douglas Menzies or just 'Doog.' You can no longer purchase these from the original creator.
It's a Sequential Discovery box with various tricks up its sleeve, as the name implies!

Red Herring Box 2.0 is named thusly because it is a smaller version of the unique one-off puzzle known as 'The Red Herring Box' which was a singular item sent from Doog to one puzzler, who would solve it and then sign a guest book within the box (and perhaps leave a donation or memento in a sealed chamber within), and then send it to a friend, and they would do the same and send it along, and so on and so on.
What Doog heard back from the people who had gotten to try it during its various stops around the puzzling community was that it was very amusing to solve, as well as well-designed and well-liked enough to justify the creation of the 2.0 version, which could be sold. The original was somewhat large, perhaps 10in x 8in x 15in or so.
