This is a 12-Piece checkerboard puzzle, likely from the 1950's according to Jacques Haubrich's compendium, A Century of Checkerboard Puzzles. "The Famous Banzee Island Checkerboard Puzzle" was a favorite in advertising, used by over a dozen different businesses, this one in particular for Northwest Orient Airlines. The pieces come in a rectangular arrangement from which they are to be punched out. Each square measures 1/2 x 1/2 inches (13 x 13 mm). The puzzles are intact WITH THE ENVELOPES UNOPENED (the pieces in the photo are from another copy of this puzzle) and are in NEAR MINT condition. THE WINNING BIDDER WILL RECEIVE TWO COPIES OF THE PUZZLE --- one to keep intact for collecting purposes, and one with which to play. The puzzle has 11 solutions, and I will include a sealed copy of them.
I will ship within the US as a ground advantage (first class) package for around $6.50, or at insured priority mail pricing (likely $10.50), if preferred. I am happy to ship
internationally at cost (around $20), but I cannot always guarantee that overseas
packages can be insured or tracked.
