Description

EVERYONE knows the 5-piece square puzzle. Well, here is a British dime store (twopenny-halfpenny store?) version from the '50's or '60's (no later than 1965), "Five Block Puzzle," one of dozens of novelty items produced by the E&S Novelty Company. There is something appealing about the "kitchyness" of the presentation of the puzzle; collectible much more for the packaging and presentation as opposed to the puzzle. If you want a 50+ year old example of how a classic puzzle made it into popular culture, this is for you!
