This thing is nuts. Honestly when I got it, I didn’t know exactly what to expect. At first, I thought it was gonna just be put together take a part puzzle. But instead, it is in the traditional form, a burr puzzle or interlocking burr puzzle. The movements are exact and precise. And the craftsmanship is next level. I must add that one of the pieces came un-glued. So I contacted Pelikan and got the exact dimensions and burrtools file, then successfully re-glued the piece. I doubt anyone would’ve even noticed, but I must mention it. That said, of course, if necessary, I could supply the solution file. The puzzle is in incredible condition. I’ve kept it stored away with a box that I got just for this puzzle that will also be included.
Here’s what Pelikan wrote about the puzzle:
“ This puzzle measures: 185 mm x 80 mm 93 mm
Material: Wenge, Padouk, Cherry and American Walnut
Moves: 40 (21.9.2.3.2.1.2)
Terry Smart wrote about it:
“I did suggest to Jakub that we could do a follow up to the steam engine and due to popular demand I designed the coal tender. Once again Jakub has managed to create another beautiful puzzle. I really like the LNER engraved onto the sides. I made this one a bit easier to solve at Level 21.9. I hope everyone enjoys it. You will then have to badger Jakub to make the passenger carriage.” “
