Description

The "New Departure Puzzle" is an extremely colorful puzzle used to advertise New Departure bicycle coaster brakes, a General Motors Corporation product. This EDGE MATCHING PUZZLE is from 1953, 70 YEARS OLD! According the the instructions, the card is to be cut along the white lines into nine squares, and the cards rearranged into a 3x3 square so that the colors match at each set of common edges. This advertising puzzle is in nearly pristine condition and displays very colorfully.

The "New Departure Puzzle" is of course complete and in remarkably colorful condition for being 70 years old. I will include a copy of the solution from the great Jacques Haubrich's three-volume Compendium of Card Matching Puzzles.
