The goal is to remove the ring (see last picture, no spoiler).
This design is referred to as #2 according to Haubrichs catalog of bolt and nut puzzles.
This is a later reproduction by Wil, produced around 2016, with one end of the pin made from brass.
It has a few very minor dents on the outside, which is common for this type of puzzle (see pictures).
