Exolution II by Andrew Crowell
This box was made by Andrew in his workshop and purchased from him directly.
Here is the description from his website:
The Exolution II Puzzle is a sliding, interlocking wooden puzzle with a marble and a ball bearing inside. The marble complicates the sliding moves available, and moves inside of the puzzle. The 1st objective is to remove the marble from the puzzle. There are 9 moves required in order to free the marble, though about half of the moves are actually moves the marble must make. There are two moves which have increased difficulty due to the ball bearing :-), but I won't give anymore hints than that. The 2nd objective is to disassemble the rest of the puzzle. There are 2 more moves required to free the first of 5 puzzle pieces. The final objective is to reassemble the puzzle with the marble and ball bearing inside.
Exolution means: to set free, and I chose the name purposefully, because of the marble inside, and because the exterior windmill pattern of the wood resembles Stewart Coffin's Convolution puzzle series.
Puzzle is made out of 3 different rare woods: Padauk, Tiger wood, and Zebra Wood. No stains are used, the colors are all natural. A protective clear lacquer has been applied.
