Yes, this is one of those very rare Stickman No. 1 Puzzleboxes that started it all. But before you get all excited, I must tell you that, as my very first puzzlebox, this line really does not depict the quality that you have come to expect from Stickman boxes over the years.
.
While the mechanism in this box works exceptionally well, it is constructed of old scrap oak wood (not much to look at) and the finish is terrible. It is not a bad box, but is probably best suited for a collector who simply desires to complete their set of Stickman items. Originally, this box was made for my grandmother as a Christmas present. It was an ugly box that only a grandmother could love and has sat lovingly on her mantle, untouched for a decade. She has since passed on, and the box was returned to me. It requires 9 moves in order to get into all three secret compartments. It is a moderately easy puzzle to solve, but the trick to accessing the to the second drawer is pleasantly elusive.
.
Stickman No 1 puzzleboxes were limited to 100, but in reality I only made around 30 of them. (I have about as much desire to finish the rest of this particular line as I do in going back to elementary school, so no more will ever be made.) The instruction booklet to this box is also long gone, so I have no idea what limited edition number it is from the set. The box measures 4” x 5” x 7.5” and weighs about 2 lbs
