Vicious Cicrle was the exchange puzzle of Tatiana Matveeva at IPP22 in Belgium, 2002.
The goal of this puzzle is to open the box. it is a vicious circle because:
To open the box, you need to know its secret ... To see its secret, you need to open the box.
This is a hard puzzle with an invisible locking mechanism.
It does provides enough tactile feedback to understand what may be going on inside.
The top lid was loose, it is glued back in place. After the repair the box was opened and closed without trouble.
The puzzle comes without paperwork.
