"Oriental Toothpick Safe" was designed and manufactured by the late great Frank Chambers of Ireland, the MASTER of Corian material puzzles. "Oriental Toothpick Safe" was used by perennial International Puzzle Party attendee and Puzzle Exchange participant Dave Rossetti as his exchange puzzle at IPP21 held in Tokyo in 2021.
The goal of "Oriental Toothpick Safe" is simply to open the box. As in Japanese tradition, a clue to the solution is in the name of the puzzle. No external tools, rapping, or magnets are involved, and the black button does not move. Once the box is opened, another puzzle (involving toothpicks) will be found.
"Oriental Toothpick Safe" is as received at IPP21 in 2001. It did not come with instructions (but the instructions are pretty clear: open the box). I will include a copy of the solution to "Oriental Toothpick Safe" from the IPP21 booklet.

to ship
internationally at cost --- typically around $17.10 for a small sturdy item like
