Kubusvlakendoos (OD-46) was conceived by Oskar van Deventer and crafted by Trevor Wood in 1990. The english translation of the name is: "Cubes-planes-box". The addition of the 7 cubes was the idea of Trevor Wood.
Thirteen pieces in all, six birch planar pieces an seven birch unit cubes assemble into an 8x8x8 cube. The assembled cube is stored in the padauk and mahogany box.
Anyone familiar with fine woodworking and mechanical puzzles recognizes the master craftsman Trevor Wood. This 1990 puzzle is 30 years old, and is in excellent condition. A very difficult puzzle to find, let alone in gorgeous woods with excellent fit and finish.
The box is stamped with TW logo and hand marked "1178". Pieces appear to be leopardwood and another exotic wood; box has a gorgeous leopardwood lid. See photos.
