Description
A seemingly incredibly mathematically complex
puzzle in mechanical puzzle form, Isaac's Iris was based on an idea by
world-renowned computer science giant Donald Knuth and used by perennial
puzzle exchange participant Stan Isaacs as his exchange puzzle at the
21st International Puzzle party (IPP21) held in Tokyo in 2001. The
object of the puzzle is to arrange the sixteen pieces to form a disc ---
resembling the iris of an eye or of a camera (as in photo 2, which is a stock photo --- my offering is still in its original shrink wrap) --- that
meets certain assembly constraints. |
