4 Exchange puzzles from the millennium IPP held in Los Angeles in 2000
Qubate — Eight pieces related to the 2x2x2 cube, which must be assembled to form a 4x4x4 cube. Designed, produced and exchanged by Robert Darling. Assembled as received, with instructions and solution, at IPP20.
Holey Plates Too — An interesting route-finding puzzle in which the wooden ring must be moved from one side of a plate to the other, while simultaneously being constrained by a plastic plate with holes in it. Designed, produced and exchanged by Rik van Grol, perennial IPP Puzzle Exchange participant. Complete with original instruction card as received at IPP40.
The Double L Cube — Each of eight pieces is formed from two L-tetrominos joined in different manners, with the object being to form an 8x8x8 cube. Designed by the great Nob Yoshigahara, produced and exchanged by Bernhard Schweitzer. Complete with original instructions and still shrink-wrapped in original box as received at IPP20.
Knot Eight Snakes — Form a 3x3x3 cube by folding the 20 cube chain and fitting it onto the constrained platform that already has seven cubes fixed on it, one of which may occupy one of three different positions on the base. Produced by the prolific Jean-Claude Constantin and exchanged by Wil Strijbos. Assembled in its original box, as received at IPP20.
I will include the solution to each puzzle (unless the solution is already included) from the IPP20 booklet.
