The idea for the Escalating Box came from a couple of different mechanisms I'd been fooling around with. Johan has produced some excellent puzzles in recent years and, in my opinion, this is the best. Bars box IVThis work was designed as a Christmas present for 2019. This work was made to confound those who are used to the Bars box II (KW-37) and Bars box III (KW-38). Fewer moves are required to solve this puzzle. It became a challenging structure. I might be able to use this method to develop future works.Will combine shipping. This is one of Jesse's first two puzzle designs from 2015, so the fit is not as perfect as his later designs. It's a lovely puzzle book with an odd solution, but the piece movement in one part of the solution is a bit tighter than you might expect (solution sheet included). Anyway, if you are trying to get a "complete set" of Jesse Born's work, there were only 14 of these made (according to his website).Shipping weight with packaging is 1 lb 11 oz.
