Carved wooden jigsaw - Lighthouse
This is a simple 3D carved jigsaw of a lighthouse scene (9 pieces) with a 4 piece frame and a backing board. The back has a slotted panel that comes out that allows you to lean it on a desk like a photo. It's pretty, and nicely made, but certainly not difficult.

Yeah, everyone needs a few of these in their collection. Philosopher's Knot; not sure about the manufacturer, might be Futuristix. About 20-30 years old. No box, no instructions, take it apart and put it back together.

Laby Box
Open the box. Not very difficult but a lot of fun to work through the mazes. The interior of the box is unobstructed, so you could actually store something in this puzzle box. This box came within an inch of being destroyed in the great Colorado flood of 2013!

Pawn puzzle, Marcel Gillen, Bits & Pieces
Aluminum Pawn puzzle, designed by Marcel Gillen, Puzzle Makers International. No Box. Photocopy of instruction sheet included. Mechanism works fine. Weighs 11.4 oz. NOTE: Of the various Gillen chess pieces, the Pawn from B&P had a history of jamming internally; this one was no exception. The coin inside can get wedged between two moving surfaces and makes it nearly impossible to open. When I did finally get this one open, there was quite a bit of scoring on the aluminum surface of the intern...

Roll Up! Roll Up! by Simon Bexfield IPP29
Roll Up! Roll Up! An interesting puzzle from Simon Bexfield; you've got to roll the ball to the top of the spiral ramp - but to do that, first you have to solve the puzzle on the bottom of the puzzle with the two turning disks. The disk movement is fairly rough, there's a good amount of friction there, but it is moveable with a bit of wiggling. Puzzle weighs 10.3 oz.

Geometrex - Nabucho, Quirinus, and Ormazd
Geometrix - Nabucho, Quirinus, and Ormazd. Three different designs of the well-known "missing square" puzzle; cramming an extra piece into an already full area. You have to turn over the tray to get the little square out. The three layouts are shown on the back of the packages, which you can see in the picture. The set of three puzzles weighs 15.5 oz.

IQ Collection - Orb, Urchin, and Periscope
IQ Collection - Orb, Urchin, and Periscope. Orb is a put-together, "create an orb (from the metal rings) and try to balance it on top of the pedestal. Reminiscent of the "nail" balancing puzzle. Urchin; balance the Urchin on the block of wood; little bit of a gimmick on this one. Periscope; remove the metal ring; a not-too-difficult solid disentanglement, but it looks nice and has a satisfying solution. Total weight; 1 lb 7 oz.

Rubik's Bricks, Rubik's Clock, Rubik's Triamid
Rubik's Bricks, Rubik's Clock, Rubik's Triamid, all with original packaging. The Clock box is a bit crunched on one corner, with tape on the end-flaps, while the Triamid box shows medium wear, and the blister pack for the Bricks has been pulled off the cardboard backing. Instruction sheets are included with Clock and Bricks, and I don't think Triamid came with one (it's pretty simple; the instructions are on the back of the box). Total weight is 1 lb, 2 oz.

Cubed Burr II, copy 1
Many years ago, Eric made about a dozen of these puzzles, one of my designs which was basically a Cutler Burr turned into a cube, with a few other mods. It's a level 10 puzzle with 6 pieces. Due to some problem with the wood, extensive sanding on the puzzles (like, hours) was required to make them actually fit together; I volunteered to do this task. I only got around to sanding the last two copies a month ago, and they fit together fairly well, but not perfectly; you can see small gaps in the p...

Three Piece Block
One of Stewart Coffin's most well-known design. Surprisingly tricky considering there are only 3 pieces. The target shape is a tetrahedron made from cubes, definitely a difficult shape to visualize. This copy was 3D printed by Shapeways, it is "pocket sized" and made from ten 13mm cubes. Each piece is dyed a different color, which makes disassembly easy, but reassembly is not any easier.I have several wood copies of this puzzle, and while they are very nice, none of them fit as well as this pu...

Lomino Cube 4
My IPP32 exchange puzzle. Pack the 13 L-shaped pieces into the frames on either side. The pieces can also be packed into a 4x4x4 cube and other 3D shapes. Puzzle includes an 8 page booklet of challenges. Comes in a clear plastic box, you can store the puzzle in the solved or unsolved state. The pieces are 9mm thick, this puzzle is fairly heavy for an acrylic puzzle, as I recall 100 of these puzzles weighed 33 pounds or 15 kilos.
