ResQ sequential discovery
ResQ is genuinely one of the coolest SD puzzles I’ve ever solved. A lot of people compare it to jammed gem based off the number of steps and tools, but in my opinion, it is much more complex of a solve with a ton of tools to use along the way.

Railroad Crossing
(Description from Karakuri Member’s Site:)Some of the mechanisms move automatically.Because of that, the moving parts became quite complicated and detailed, and it was difficult to adjust the movement.——————It is hard for me to part with this, but I need the $ for the holidays (and there are a lot of unsolved puzzles waiting out there lol). This is a good-sized piece that displays beautifully. This includes the original, custom-made box, as well as the sealed solution and care ins...

Puzzle Clock
#14 of 25Bill made these a couple years back and it’s such a fun solve. What looks like such a well crafted clock, hides a secret compartment that you’ll need to figure out for yourself how to unlock. A true masterpiece of a puzzle box/SD.

Sweet Lock - SD Puzzle lock - Chris Cormier
Here's the absolutely stunning Sweet Lock by Chris C! This lock is a monster in person, the weight alone will make you gasp and the polished finish Chris achieved by hand is just wonderful. There were only 100 of these made, and this is #44.I spent many hours with this puzzle and loved every minute. It's an SD puzzle, and even just the first step rewarding my guessing of what might happen was such a cool start to the rest of the puzzle. This one made me really think and for that reason it's such...

51 Pound Puzzle Box
My latest puzzle box, the 51 Pound box, has been about six months in the making. I thought up the design a long time ago, but it took a while to figure out the mechanics involved in implementing the concept. Each puzzle is supplied with one pound - the other 50 you must provide yourself!Painstakingly handcrafted from the finest materials, the box features some very nice inlay and intersting stepped miter joinery on the edges of the shell box. Custom internal mechanisms were hand milled from soli...

The Box and Cage (K-12) by Kamei [404-190]
The founding Karakuri craftsman, Akio Kamei, began producing fine wood puzzles in the 1970's in Japan. A museum quality example of Kamei's early kumiki work, designed in 1978, this is an original artist's piece produced in the early '80s, not a later reproduction. Note the fine woodgrain in this example. Another example is featured in the Slocum collection at: http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/images/item.htm?id=http://purl.dlib.indiana.edu/iudl/lilly/slocum/LL-SLO-003073 Objective is to t...

Surprising Drawer (CO-12-2)
This work is one of the 12th Karakuri Box Idea Contest winners. The solving mechanism and the result it produces once it comes open is surprising to say the least, shocking almost. And closing it again afterwards takes a bit of thought as the solution seems, in more ways than one, to be physically impossible at first glance. Keyaki(zelkova), Magnolia, Wenge.

Beaulid Box by Joel Freedman and Eric Fuller
My latest box is the only box design I have collaborated on since the Stickman #4 with Robert Yarger, nearly five years ago. Generally I like to design my own boxes, but when Joel sent this design in for the Coffin Puzzlecraft Competition, I knew it was too good an idea to pass up. We worked together to make the solution a bit more difficult, and the result is something special. To my knowledge no other puzzle box uses the mechanism nor solving methodology that the Beaulid does. These puzzles are...

Heart case
Description from Pluredro :We have released Diamond Case and Club Case in the past and this is the third one of the trump card series puzzle boxes. We presume that Heart Case is easier than the previous two puzzles, yet it requires several unusual steps to solve. Like most of Juno’s former designed puzzle boxes, bashing, tapping and centrifugal forces are not necessary to open it. Heart Case is also categorized as a sequential discovery puzzle because there are some tools used to open the box....
